Delinquent

I'm not a very reliable blogger, I plan to be much more active on my Facebook page. That's easier to keep up with when I'm not getting in to something...

Late Birthday Wishes - A Day in the Life of Stinkerbell

Stinkerbell turned four about 10 days ago... hard to believe we have had her for so long!

She has developed a pretty regular schedule:
4a-5a: get out of bed (I have trained myself to wake up when I hear the click-click-click as she goes down the steps next to the bed) at which point I lock her in the laundry room so she can do her business in an appropriate place.

6a-7a: cats demand breakfast, Stinkerbell is released from the laundry room and gets breakfast too.

8a-10a: chase the dog if he's awake, if he's not awake - bite him. Also dig at the carpet next to mom's nightstand until mom locks her in the laundry room again with some "cookies" or peanuts.

Noonish: laundry room open but Stinkerbell is sacked out in her bed, usually having kicked her monkey out.

Noon to 3p-4p: sleep in the laundry room or run across the house to one of her two other favorite beds (the scarf bin in my closet or the fitted sheet bin in the bathroom closet)

3p-4p to 8p-10p: sleep

8p-10p: Up! Up! Up!  Chase the dog! Chase the cats! Stomp at Daddy! Get up on the couch to snuggle with Mom and The Chou. Get someone to FEED ME!!!

Midnight-1a: climb the steps next to the bed and get under the covers to sleep between moms ankles.

Fun With Peanuts...

PLEASE LOVE ME!

I think that Stinkerbell has a crush on The Chou.

Merry Christmas!

Stinkerbell is festive in a lovely Christmas dress.

Even her brothers are impressed.

Happy Holidays!

Hibernation

Stinkerbell goes into a modified hibernation every winter... around the beginning of November she starts sleeping more (hard to believe, when she sleeps about 3/4 of the day to start with) and eating less.

Since just before we moved from Key West, Stink had been a bit overweight and has slimmed down a bit again, which is nice.

She's also gotten more and more social with strangers over time, we hosted some friends for a football-watching party last week and Stinkerbell allowed Lee to hold her for quite awhile!

On Thanksgiving, our friends brought their boston terrier over for the day and she was polite when he was giving her an investigative sniff attack!

We took her to visit a friend and brought her house/bed, blankie, and monkey along to make her comfortable. After the excitement of a new person and new place, she retreated to the crate to relax.

Shedding

Stinkerbell is going through her summer shed. There are skunk hairs all over the couch, carpet, bed, when you pet her your hand comes away with many souvenirs.

She also seems to have a larger appetite than in the winter, we may have to start feeding her more than once a day.

Two

Stinkerbell turned two last week.

We have learned recently that she likes sunchips and does NOT like frosted mini-wheats.

She's still crawling in to bed with us pretty much every night, but has been getting up during the day a lot more, which is nice. I think she really is winter/summer sensitive, and hibernates during the colder months regardless of the actual temperature outside.

Here's to another 18 years of Stink Life!
